Ok as ridiculous as this story sounds it is true. Ford's sales last month dipped over 20 percent compared to September 2006. The American Family Association is now taking some of the credit for the disappointing sales.

2010 Motor Trend Car Of The Year Contenders Thumb

Motor Trend is currently hanging out at the Hyundai/Kia testing facility, in Mojave, California testing 17 new cars to see which one will take the title this year as the "2009 Motor Trend Car of the Year."

Motor Trend is quick to point out that this is not a comparison test and is only open to all-new or substantially upgraded vehicles that have gone on sale in the 12 months from November 1, 2007. Motor Trend also does not test vehicles that have been on sale for the past five years.

GM has put together an informational video of what it predicts will happen if the Big Three automakers all fail next year.

Some highlights:
-If all three fail next year it will result in 3 million U.S. jobs lost in the first year
-Total governement tax loss over three years = $156.4 billion
-The U.S. GDP would drop 4 percent, compare that to the fact that the current economic downturn was caused by a .3 percent drop
-One out of every ten jobs in the U.S. relies on the U.S. auto industry

Auto Trader Classic

The news that GM has killed Pontiac may make some of you want to rush out and buy a G8 or Solstice in the hope that it may one day become a collectors item, but you may want to rethink that.

According to General Manager Rob Huting of AutoTrader Classic, the current Pontiacs are unlikely to become significant to collectors. GM has already produced 12,000 units of the G8, which has only been on the market for a short time. Although it represents a good performance value, it is unlikely to become as collectible as say a Corvette. The same will likely go for the Solstice or any other car currently in the Pontiac lineup.

Last year when gas prices topped $4.50 a gallon in many parts of the country, car buyers ditched their large SUVs and trucks for smaller cars like the Honda Fit, but now many of those buyers are beginning to regret their purchase.

Gas prices are not quite as high as they were last year, which is part of the explanation for why truck sales have rebounded from last year. Car buyers have all but forgotten how painful it was to see near $5 prices and have moved back into larger vehicles. According to the latest figures subcompact car sales are off 15 percent year to date and compact cars are off 28.5 percent. Popular small cars like the Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit sales are down 41 percent and 8.2 percent respectively.

It get's worse for the small car market, according to a new study by AutoPacific, small car buyers are not happy with their small cars.

this new car, it will make Aston Martin the one and only car manufacture to build cars in each of the GT racing categories which is unheard of and hasn’t been seen in awhile. Typically, different companies specialize in certain categories, but for Aston Martin, they seem to propel in every racing area they enter and there doesn’t seem anyone coming close to them. Another first for the Aston Martin Vantage GT2 is the option of not only using race fuel but also using bio-ethanol fuel which is a lot safer and better for our environment.

The Aston Martin product portfolio is completed for 2008 now, since they will have a car in each racing category and they feel they’ve done a great job this year as a team. One of the only things released about the car was the fact it could use bio-ethanol fuel which is something Aston Martin was really pulling for in there 2008 series as it lacked it in the 2007 series.

They did a good job of keeping the specs on this car completely safeguarded and there isn’t much out on this car except for some images of it. It basically looks like a video game type of car that is all supped up. It actually resembles a racing car and from what I’ve heard it should have some great power behind it.

If you didn’ t think that you can choose for an old car but modern and powerful in the same time we present you the Lotec C1000. For those who don’ t know yet this is a mid-90’s model which was transformed into a four-wheels monster with the help of a 5.6- liter Mercedes V8. The power of the engine is increased with the help of two twin turbochargers, resulting in 1000 Hp and 723 lb-ft of torque.

Due to the use of carbon fiber the car only weights 2380lbs. All this comes together with a 5-speed manual transmission which can get from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and 0-125 in 8.1 seconds. You wouldn’t think that all this is possible on car made in 1995 but you can be sure about this since the C1000 was aquired by a Arabian business baron of black gold for a price of $3.4M. It is said to be the fastest car in the world(268MPH) which means that Lotec is faster then even the great Bugatti Veyron.

What nobody is sure of is how did this beast arrive in North Carolina, shown up at a tiny dealership in Concorde. Is seems that two years ago the C1000 was auctioned at one of the Barrett- Jackson auction for $243,000 and only after a few months is was found on eBay with a selling price of $350,000 at the tiny dealership. It is heard that unfortunately this one-of –a-kind car is broken in several pieces now.

Excelent BMW’s Green Sports Car

“It’s the sports car of the future, the way BMW imagines it.” That’s how Adrian van Hooydonk, director of BMW’s group design, describes the “BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics” two-door concept vehicle to be unveiled at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show. Think of it as a showcase of the many fuel-efficient technologies that BMW has in various stages of development. Some of the technologies already appear in production vehicles, while the feasibility of rolling out other systems stretch the future to the point of never.

First, BMW engineers use the rear-axle to combine a turbo-charged small diesel engine and the mildest forms of hybrid technology. That kind of combo comes standard in BMW 1-series cars in Europe. The Vision's setup is a little more similar to the BMW 320d, also to debut in Frankfurt, which uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel to deliver 162 horsepower, while promising more than 57 miles to the gallon. The BMW Vision takes it a step further by downsizing the engine to a 1.5-liter three-cylinder diesel engine mated with the more robust hybrid system found in the pricey BMW ActiveHybrid7, expected in the US early next year.

Debut Peugeot

Peugeot 90X Peugeot said it was on target with its new Le Mans challenger - codenamed the 90X - after the first track test of the car, which was exclusively revealed by AUTOSPORT on Friday.

AUTOSPORT understands that the test hack ran for three days at Monza this week. The car is not the definitive 2011 machine, but does feature the now-mandatory fin on the rear end, among other changes.

Peugeot's motorsport chief Olivier Quesnel said an important milestone had been reached this week.

"Our intention was to take it out onto a track before the end of the year," he said. "I am pleased to report that we have now done that.

"Even so, there is still a long way to go and a considerable amount of work to be done as we prepare for 2011."
